Mirror Coaching is run by Dr Colin Clerkin, a Coach and Clinical Psychologist with many years' experience of helping people make the changes in their lives and their businesses that take them to where they want to be.
"I have a simple philosophy when I work with you: my role is to help you to create a clear vision of what that image in the mirror, the "fulfilled business owner that is you", looks like, because once you can be clear about what that looks, sounds & feels like, achieving that successful practice then comes within your grasp".

Bio

Dr Colin Clerkin
I have been involved in helping people tackle challenges for almost 20 years, initially as a clinical psychologist and, over the past four years, as a coach too, working with business owners and executives. I spent 14 years in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK before branching out on my own in 2004 and establishing a thriving private practice in the historic city of Chester, in the North West of England.
Before psychology, I spent five years in the advertising industry in Dublin but realised it wasn’t the career choice for me. I then travelled around North America for two years, where, amongst other things, I spent time hiking in Yosemite and bartending in Manhattan.
My bartending experiences re-ignited my interest in people, and so I moved to Wales to study psychology, where I gained an understanding of what works in helping people make the key changes in their behaviour that can impact positively on their lives.

After gaining my doctorate, I established myself as a member of the psychology community across North Wales, developing my skills and expertise working with a wide range of client groups, keeping my knowledge current through regular attendance at conferences and training courses, including the well-respected Institute of Leadership and Management Executive Coaching and Mentoring Masters-level qualification. I have also been involved in teaching and running workshops, sharing my knowledge with fellow professionals and client groups alike.
Over the past few years, I have faced some new challenges head-on, having been diagnosed with two entirely different cancers since 2007. I have successfully come through treatment, as positive as ever, and my response to the experience has left me with more drive than ever. I've been keen to contribute to the battle to beat cancer, so I created the 365challenge for Cancer Research UK, which has raised tens of thousands of pounds for the charity. Throughout my treatment, I managed to maintain my sense of humour and fitness, running through chemotherapy whenever I could. Now, with this experience behind me, I am keen to offer my support by coaching cancer survivors too, but my main focus remains working with coaches, psychologists and psychotherapists as they work to start and grow their private practices.
When not working, I enjoy running, hiking, playing guitar (after a fashion), and walking my dog, Rufus, a big soft Chocolate Labrador.
